While the house is still unfinished, we stayed one night yesterday. The purpose was also to find out what is wrong with the house.
For me, it is a new structure built in a strange land. For some reason, I feel terribly nostalgic.
It reminds me of the nostalgia of my childhood, and old songs come back to me. I was cleaning up, singing songs of remembrance.
One by one, I carefully install the paintings and other objects I have bought and collected since entering the Covid-19 pandemic.
Some of them were purchased directly from artisans at the DASTKAR or A HUNDRED HANDS exhibitions, and others were displayed in a corner of antique shops.
As soon as they were hung on the wall, they became alive and glowed as if they had begun to breathe.
Among them, the highlights were the paintings by my friend JAYA JAVERI. Two works depicting scenes of Hampi are in the living room. The riverside scene of the Ganges River is in the corridor.
For the past few months, I have been thinking many times how I would like to decorate the gallery.
The furniture and furnishings, although purchased from several different vendors, are in perfect harmony with each other.
India. Japan. Mythology. Faith. Tradition. Travel. Earth. Nature. Planet....... This space is full of stories.
When I get back from Japan, I will put them all back together again and unravel them little by little.
