A single photo that appeared on Facebook brought me back past trips.(日本語は下に)
When I was a freelance writer and editor in Tokyo. From April to June 1994, I traveled by train through Europe. My journey began in Paris. The last stop was Barcelona. I traveled clockwise through France, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Spain .......
It was a time of chaos due to the integration of East and West Europe. In Budapest, Hungary, I was approached at the train station by a lady who had come to solicit guests for a homestay. We both spoke poor English, but I listened to her talk about the lifestyle of the time. The most memorable place in Budapest was the New York Café. I visited there twice by myself and enjoyed the luxurious atmosphere and food. At the time, I had no idea that I would be living in New York two years later.
🇯🇵Facebook
